Mechanical Engineer UCPM

Are you ready to shape the future with groundbreaking technological solutions?

We are AAE, a high-tech family-owned company in Helmond that contributes to a better world through pioneering technologies. We are extremely proud of our cutting-edge technology and the prominent role we play in the international complex high-tech industry. But what we are even more proud of is that you, as a Mechanical Engineer, might soon become part of it!

As a Mechanical Engineer, you make a real difference by developing tools that make our processes safer, more efficient, and more reproducible. These tools ensure that both our internal teams and external customers can always rely on the highest quality.

Pushing technical boundaries

Our mission is crystal clear: to make the world a little better every day with our groundbreaking technological solutions. How do we do that? Simple. We only work for companies that contribute to a better world. For example, we build machines that enable groundbreaking research into curing cancer and Alzheimer’s, or ultra-advanced machines that print and assemble as many as 350 million syringes per year. At AAE, you are not just part of a company, but part of this greater mission.

You’ll find a wide variety of projects and technologies, as diverse as our customers and industries, both nationally and internationally.

What will your role be?

As a Mechanical Engineer at AAE in Helmond, you are the expert in developing tools that improve the manufacturability of products. You will do this within the business line Ultra-Conditioned Precision Modules (UCPM): a specialized environment where we develop and produce high-precision modules for leading customers in Semiconductors and Life Sciences.

Within UCPM, we work on products and modules that require extremely high standards of accuracy, quality, and reliability. Think of applications involving high pressure, vacuum, temperature variations, and very tight tolerances.

How will you contribute? By designing smart tools that improve and further optimize our production processes.

You translate ideas into smart, efficient solutions. Working closely with the New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer and System Engineer, you ensure every process runs smoothly by following the V-model and iteratively simulating, 3D-printing, and validating prototypes using customer feedback.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to take full ownership of the design, development, validation, and implementation of tools. The best part? You don’t just design these tools—you can also physically touch, test, and improve them. This is made possible thanks to our transparent production halls, separated from the engineering department only by a glass wall. Transparency is what we stand for.

And the tools? They are as versatile as the challenges we face. From tools that increase production efficiency to complete qualification tools for customer component approval. Think of positioning tools that improve precision or safety tools that reduce risks. And don’t be mistaken—these are not simple tools; they can be complete machines!

In short, your responsibilities will focus on:

  • Specifying customer requirements (internal or external) to gain a clear understanding of the problem the tool is meant to solve.
  • Developing solutions and concepts for the technical challenges you encounter.
  • Iteratively developing concepts by creating prototypes and validating them together with the customer.
  • Taking full ownership of the entire process, from concept to validation.

Finally, what we do, we do well—and we do it together. Never alone. Within the Ultra-Conditioned Precision Modules (UCPM) business line, our mechanical team of six enjoys an open and friendly atmosphere. At AAE, it’s about both technology and the people behind it. Collaboration always comes first.

Be part of something great

Our technology is groundbreaking. But our culture? That’s just as special. We are a family-owned company with over 550 colleagues that pushes boundaries without ever losing the human touch. We celebrate successes together, during Friday afternoon drinks, pub quizzes, team outings, and legendary staff parties. Or through sporting adventures, like climbing the Passo dello Stelvio. Just for fun (and for a good cause).

At AAE, once you’re part of the family, you’re always part of the family.

You’ve got what it takes

You are a Mechanical Engineer with a sharp eye for detail. What truly energizes you? Developing tools that improve processes. You enjoy collaborating and know how to turn technical challenges into practical solutions.

Looking to the future and the expansion of our team, we are seeking someone who can help us realize our ambitions. We are looking for you if you have:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably with tool design.
  • Experience with iterative design.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SolidWorks and Teamcenter is a plus.

Last but not least, you fit our unique company culture, characterized by our core values: Ambitious, Can-do, Human, and Together.

How we take care of you

At AAE, we place great value on your job satisfaction. You will have plenty of training and career development opportunities. You will also have access to our comprehensive vitality program, in which we continuously focus on the physical and mental well-being of our employees. Did you know we have been recognized as a World Class Workplace 2025? This certification is awarded only to organizations that score above average in terms of employer excellence.

In addition, as a Mechanical Engineer (based on a 40-hour workweek), we offer:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,500 and €6,400, depending on experience and performance.
  • An annual profit-sharing bonus.
  • 40 vacation days.
  • Travel allowance.
  • Participation in the AAE Academy for your personal and professional growth.
