What will your role be?

As a Mechanical Engineer within our Advanced OEM Systems (AOS) business line, you’ll be creating high-tech devices and machines that drive innovation and enhance human well-being. But what does that look like in practice? Our customers, active in the analytical and semiconductor industries, present us with their requirements. From that point on, you take the lead. You’ll translate these requirements into a producible design by generating, selecting, and refining concepts. You do this in collaboration with other mechanical engineers, system engineers, project managers, and, of course, the customer.

You won’t just be stuck at your desk—your role also includes hands-on involvement. In our factory, you’ll support the construction of prototypes and proof-of-principle tests. You'll work closely with technicians, providing support and adjusting your design if unforeseen challenges arise during implementation. You’ll interact directly with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to select components, perform simulations, and conduct tolerance analyses.

The immense variety! You'll work on projects ranging from machines for groundbreaking cancer research to advanced solutions for the semiconductor industry, such as coating machines. At AOS, it's all about co-development: bringing customer ideas to life with a focus on speed, reliability, and quality.

In a nutshell, you will…

• Define and align requirements with customers, internal stakeholders, and suppliers.
• Develop concepts (3D CAD models and 2D drawings), selecting and integrating components in accordance with the V-model development process.
• Validate designs through proof-of-principle tests and prototypes, sometimes utilizing 3D printing.
• Provide technical support during machine construction and advise technicians when your design needs adjustments.
• Perform calculations, risk assessments, and draft manuals. You’ll also support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

At AAE, we believe in doing things right and doing them together. You’ll join a mechanical engineering team of four within the broader AOS department of twenty mechanical engineers. The atmosphere is open—mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn, and personal growth is a priority. You’ll regularly have one-on-one meetings with your team lead and have plenty of opportunities for development and training. Stuck on a challenge? You’ve got what it takes

We’re looking for you if you have:

• At least 8 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, preferably in designing high-tech devices and machines.
• Experience with development according to the V-model process.
• An HBO or university degree (or equivalent experience) in mechanical engineering or a similar technical field.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
• A hands-on and proactive attitude.
• The drive to contribute to building and improving our team.
• Experience with SolidWorks and TeamCenter (preferred but not required).

• A gross monthly salary between € 3.500,-and € 6.400,- (depending on experience and expertise).
