Process Engineer Cleanroom & Assembly

As a Process Engineer at AAE, you will take ownership of our assembly and cleanroom processes and continuously elevate them to the next level.

You ensure that products are assembled in a stable, efficient, and repeatable way while constantly identifying opportunities to further improve our manufacturing processes.

Welcome to AAE, a high-tech family business in Helmond with approximately 550 colleagues.

Pushing technical boundaries

Our mission? To make the world a little better every day through groundbreaking technological solutions. And that starts with a robust production process. Our machines help produce up to 350 million products annually and operate in industries where there is no room for error. Think of complex modules for semiconductor and medical applications where precision, cleanliness, and reliability are essential.

Assembly and cleanroom processes are where this complexity comes together. How do you ensure products are built consistently? How do you create processes that meet the highest quality standards while remaining practical for production?

That is exactly where your challenge begins.

What will your role be?

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and safeguarding assembly and cleanroom processes.

You will support production teams with technical challenges, analyze process issues, and translate findings into sustainable improvements. You will spend a significant amount of time on the shop floor and collaborate closely with Operators, Team Leaders, Product Engineers, and NPI Engineers to further professionalize our manufacturing processes.

Whether it concerns assembly methods, tooling, product handling, cleanliness requirements, or adhesive processes, you ensure that processes are designed to be robust, efficient, and future-proof.

You continuously identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability while investigating new technologies and working methods that contribute to operational excellence.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing, improving, and safeguarding assembly and cleanroom processes.
  • Supporting production teams with technical issues and process improvements.
  • Developing and implementing new assembly methods, tooling, and manufacturing aids.
  • Creating, maintaining, and optimizing process documentation and work instructions.
  • Supporting NPI Engineers during the introduction of new products and processes.
  • Collaborating with Product Engineers to assess the impact of product changes on assembly and cleanroom processes.
  • Investigating new technologies and manufacturing methods that contribute to a more efficient and robust production environment.

You are part of the Manufacturing Engineering team and work closely with many different departments.

Being part of something great

What we do, we do well, and we do it together. At AAE, we believe the best results are achieved when people collaborate and bring out the best in each other.

We celebrate our successes together, too. From Friday afternoon drinks and a game of padel to a pub quiz and our legendary summer barbecue. This is how we create not only great results, but also a workplace built on connection, enjoyment, and teamwork.

You’ve got what it takes

You are analytically strong, structured in your approach, and energized by improving manufacturing processes. You enjoy being on the shop floor, understand how products are assembled, and know how to translate technical challenges into practical solutions.

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Affinity with process improvement and production support.
  • Knowledge of assembly techniques and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience in a cleanroom environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of adhesive processes, bonding techniques, or adhesive joining methods is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

And naturally, a strong fit with our core values: Ambitious, Can-do, Human, and Together.

How we take care of you

At AAE, your work happiness is our number one priority. You will see this reflected in the many development opportunities available, as well as our extensive vitality program focused on supporting both the physical and mental well-being of our employees.

As a Process Engineer, based on a 40-hour workweek, you can expect:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,200 and €6,700, depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • Annual profit sharing.
  • 40 days off per year (27 vacation days plus 13 ADV days).
  • Travel allowance.
  • Access to the AAE Academy for personal and professional development.

And did you know that AAE was recognized as a World-class Workplace 2025? This distinction is only awarded to organizations that receive above-average employee appreciation. We are proud of that achievement.
