Product Engineer

You make sure everything keeps running: smart, stable, and spot-on.

Welcome to AAE. A high-tech family-owned company in Helmond where more than 550 colleagues push the boundaries of technology every day. How? By building high-end modules, systems, and machines that power medical equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, and automation solutions around the world. And that’s only possible when our products perform reliably—every single time.

As a Product Engineer, you safeguard that reliability. You ensure that our serial production products continue to meet specifications, the highest quality standards, and the most efficient manufacturing methods. You keep the process under control while continuously driving improvements.

Pushing technical boundaries

Our mission? To make the world a little better every day through groundbreaking technology. And it all starts with manufacturability.

Our machines produce up to 350 million products per year and operate in industries where there’s no room for error. Think of a cleanroom module for a semiconductor customer, where airflow, tolerances, and material selection must work together flawlessly. That’s where the complexity lies—and where your challenge begins.

At AAE, you'll work on projects where speed, precision, and innovation come together. As a Product Engineer, you'll be at the center of that combination.

What will you do?

As a Product Engineer, you'll take ownership of products already in serial production. You ensure they remain reliable, optimize them where possible, and make adjustments whenever needed. You'll serve as the technical point of contact for colleagues in both manufacturing and assembly, understanding exactly how every product or process change impacts performance.

You'll work closely with Process Engineers to continuously improve production processes—without compromising product specifications. Quality, repeatability, and process stability always come first.

Whether it's a customer request or an internal improvement initiative, you'll evaluate the technical and practical impact, balancing cost, manufacturability, and delivery reliability. With a strong Design for Manufacturing (DFM) mindset, you'll continuously identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and cost reduction—all aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Taking product ownership of existing products in serial production.
  • Serving as the primary technical contact for production-related questions.
  • Working closely with Process Engineers to optimize production processes while maintaining product quality.
  • Evaluating and implementing engineering changes with a focus on manufacturing impact, cost, and reliability.
  • Coordinating Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and supporting implementation on the production floor.
  • Initiating DFM and cost-efficiency improvements that enhance manufacturability and product stability.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, because whatever we do, we do it together—and we do it well. You'll become part of a newly established team of Product Engineers, with each engineer owning a different product portfolio. You'll work in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with colleagues across many different departments.

Part of something great

Our technology is groundbreaking. But our culture is just as exceptional.

We're a family-owned company with more than 550 colleagues that pushes boundaries without ever losing the personal touch. We celebrate successes together, whether that's during Friday afternoon drinks, pub quizzes, team outings, or legendary company parties. Or by taking on sporting challenges like climbing the Passo dello Stelvio. Just for fun (and for a good cause).

At AAE, one thing is certain: once you're part of the family, you'll always be part of the family.

You’ve got what it takes

You're analytically strong, communicate clearly, and know how to turn complex technical challenges into practical improvements. You work independently while staying closely connected with your colleagues. You're confident in making well-founded decisions and take ownership of your work.

What we're looking for:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in an engineering or other technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role—you bring senior-level expertise and lead by example.
  • Knowledge of production process control, including process flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC.
  • Experience managing and implementing engineering changes to existing products.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

And of course, a strong fit with our core values: Ambitious, Can-do, Human, and Together.

This is how we take care of you

At AAE, your job satisfaction truly matters. You'll see that reflected in many ways, from extensive learning and career development opportunities to our comprehensive vitality program, designed to support both the physical and mental well-being of our employees.

And did you know that AAE has been recognized as a World-Class Workplace 2025? This prestigious certification is only awarded to organizations whose employees rate them significantly above average as an employer.

As a Product Engineer, you can expect (based on a 40-hour workweek):

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,200 and €6,700, with growth based on your performance.
  • An annual profit-sharing bonus.
  • 40 paid days off per year.
  • Travel expense reimbursement.
  • Access to the AAE Academy for both personal and professional development.

Together we move the world happily forward
