International growth requires a finance function that grows with it. As Group Controller at AAE in Helmond, the Netherlands, you will help us maintain control of our financial performance as our operations in North America and Southeast Asia continue to expand. At group level, you will work across reporting, consolidation, accounting, and business control for multiple entities and currencies. You will report directly to the CFO and serve as a financial business partner to local management.

You will join AAE at an exciting stage of our growth. Our international finance organization is still developing, giving you the opportunity not only to report and analyze, but also to build. You will work primarily from Europe, while also regularly spending time on-site at our entities in North America and Southeast Asia.

Pushing technical boundaries

AAE is a high-tech family-owned company based in Helmond, the Netherlands, where more than 550 colleagues develop and build high-tech modules, systems, and machines for leading companies in the industry. Behind this technology is an organization with three business lines, international customers, and a growing presence outside the Netherlands. This scale and complexity require financial insights that enable us to compare performance, understand margins, and make well-informed decisions about investments and future development.

What will your role be?

Our operations in North America and Southeast Asia are still at an early stage. Your first priority will be to further develop accounting and business control in these regions and establish solid, consistent reporting that supports financial management at group level.

This is a hands-on role. You will not only analyze the numbers, but also work directly on the processes and structures needed to support our growth. You will continuously look for opportunities to improve and use AI, automation, and digital tools to make finance and control processes smarter and more efficient.

Specifically, you will:

• further develop group reporting and ensure consistent financial information across our entities;
• prepare consolidated monthly reports, forecasts, and analyses for multiple entities and currencies;
• professionalize accounting and business control within our operations in North America and Southeast Asia;
• manage intercompany transactions, support audits across different jurisdictions, and financially assess investment proposals;
• implement and monitor transfer pricing across our entities;
• use AI and automation to improve finance and control processes;
• co-lead the implementation of a multi-entity ERP system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 in the coming years.

You may also contribute to specific finance projects at our international locations.

You’ve got what it takes

You bring structure to complexity, take ownership, and thrive in an organization that is developing internationally. You combine strong financial expertise with a practical approach and continuously look for ways to improve processes and ways of working.

What you bring:

• a relevant university degree with a strong foundation in finance and accounting, such as Finance, Business Economics, or Accountancy;
• at least 5 years of experience in a comparable role;
• proven hands-on experience establishing or professionalizing accounting, reporting, and control within a young or rapidly growing international organization;
• experience in an international multi-entity environment, including consolidation, multiple currencies, and different financial reporting standards;
• a strong affinity for AI, automation, and digital tools;
• excellent command of English;
• Willingness to travel internationally to our operations in North America and Southeast Asia, approximately 20% of your time.

Preferred qualifications:

• experience in the high-tech manufacturing industry;
• a Dutch RA or RC professional qualification, or a comparable international qualification;
• experience with ERP implementations, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365;
• proficiency in Dutch.

For this Group Controller position, based on a 40-hour workweek, we offer:

• a gross monthly salary between €5,500 and €8,000, depending on your knowledge and experience;
• annual profit sharing;
• 40 days off, consisting of 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days;
