Validation Engineer

As a Validation Engineer at AAE in Helmond, you ensure that automated production lines, machines and processes within our Printing & Assembly Automation (PAA) business line demonstrably perform as intended.

Together with customers and engineers, you translate requirements into a clear validation approach, define and execute tests, and analyse the results. For some projects, you will work in accordance with GAMP guidelines.

Pushing technical boundaries

Within Printing & Assembly Automation, we develop and build automated production lines that combine printing and assembly. These lines are designed to scale to high production speeds and, depending on the application, can process more than 600 parts per minute. We deliver our systems worldwide and support customers with service, training and lifecycle support.

As a Validation Engineer, you systematically assess whether these machines, systems and processes meet agreed specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements. You examine requirements in detail, determine together with the project team how they should be tested and carefully document the results.

When you identify a deviation, you go beyond simply reporting it. You analyse what is happening, work with engineers and the customer to determine the cause and help decide which action is required.

This role combines engineering, testing, analysis and quality assurance.

What will your role be?

As a Validation Engineer, you are responsible for carrying out and coordinating verification and validation activities within projects. Specifically, you will:

  • work with customers and engineers to understand, define and refine technical specifications and requirements;
  • support the preparation of validation plans and determine which test methods are needed to verify requirements;
  • carry out and coordinate tests and experiments on machines, systems and processes, primarily at AAE in Helmond and, where required, onsite at the customer;
  • document test results, deviations and improvement opportunities in a structured way for both project purposes and compliance;
  • analyse test results, identify deviations and work with the project team to investigate root causes and initiate appropriate follow-up actions;
  • where relevant, verify and validate production, software and other operational processes;
  • assess compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines, including CE, GAMP and ISO, and propose improvements to quality and reliability based on validation results.

Being part of something great

Together with more than 600 colleagues, we develop technology that continuously pushes the boundaries of what is technically possible. In doing so, we contribute to a smarter, more sustainable and more enjoyable world.

Just as important to us is how we achieve this together. AAE is a family business where collaboration, commitment and enjoyment play an important role. We celebrate successes together and regularly organise activities outside work, from Friday afternoon drinks and pub quizzes to our summer barbecue and employee parties. Sporty colleagues also get together for activities including weekly running and padel sessions.

You’ve got what it takes

This role requires technical curiosity and accuracy. You want to understand why a result deviates from expectations, can analyse technical information and are able to communicate your findings clearly. At the same time, you keep the bigger picture in mind: demonstrating that a machine, system or process meets the requirements agreed in advance.

Important for this role:

  • technical knowledge of engineering principles, machines, systems and processes;
  • analytical skills to assess test results and draw well-founded conclusions;
  • problem-solving skills to investigate technical and process-related deviations;
  • accuracy in documenting test results, deviations and follow-up actions;
  • knowledge of GAMP is relevant, for example gained in a regulated environment such as the medical or pharmaceutical sector. Knowledge of ISO and CE is also relevant;
  • communication skills to clearly report findings and coordinate with engineers, the project team and customers;
  • the ability to work with different disciplines to define tests and follow up on deviations.

How we take care of you

At AAE, your job satisfaction matters to us. That is why we offer plenty of opportunities for growth and development, as well as an extensive vitality programme focused on both your physical and mental wellbeing.

Based on a 40-hour working week, AAE offers, among other things:

  • a gross monthly salary between €3.900 and €7.700, depending on your expertise and experience;
  • annual profit sharing;
  • 40 days off (27 vacation days + 13 ADV days);
  • a travel allowance;
  • development opportunities through the AAE Academy.

You will also be joining a World-class Workplace 2025, a recognition awarded only to organisations that receive above-average ratings from their own employees for employee engagement and good employment practices.

Together we move the world happily forward

Would you like to use engineering, analysis and validation to demonstrate that high-tech machines and processes truly meet their requirements? We would be happy to meet you.
