Work on something only a handful of people in the world can do.
Some jobs are instantly recognizable. Mechanic, machinist, welder. But have you ever heard of micro-deburring?
Probably not. And that's no surprise. Because the work you'll be doing in this role is performed by only a handful of people worldwide.
As a Micro-deburring Specialist at AAE in Helmond, you'll work on a unique high-tech product we've developed ourselves: the immersion hood. A critical component used in the world's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing machines.
Pushing technical boundaries
Our mission? To make the world a little better every day through groundbreaking technological solutions. That's why, at AAE, we develop and manufacture high-tech systems and modules for some of the world's leading companies. In an environment where every micron counts, quality isn't just something we check at the end. It's essential at every step. And that's exactly why your role matters so much.
What will your role be?
Before the immersion hood is delivered to the customer, it passes through your hands. You'll make sure that a component that's been in production for more than 30 weeks receives the perfect finishing touches.
You don't need any previous experience in micro-deburring. What matters most is a steady hand, concentration, and an eye for detail. Your colleagues will teach you all the techniques you need, step by step, to become successful in this role.
Your main responsibilities include:
Measuring and inspecting products using measurement data from our metrology department.
Recording measurement results and quality data.
Lapping surfaces to achieve the required finish.
Removing burrs from holes and structures as small as 70 microns. To put that into perspective, a human hair is approximately 60 to 80 microns thick.
Using camera systems and electronic magnification to inspect details that are invisible to the naked eye.
This work requires concentration, precision, and patience. That's why you won't spend long periods performing the same task without a break. After about half an hour, you'll deliberately step away for a moment to stay focused and maintain the highest quality standards.
Being part of something great
At AAE, we believe people do their best work when they feel good about what they do. As a family-owned high-tech company with around 550 colleagues, we keep communication open and personal. We celebrate successes together and regularly make time to unwind, whether that's at a pub quiz, a summer barbecue, or a game of padel.
You'll join a close-knit team of six skilled specialists. Everyone works hard, but there's always room for humor and supporting each other. We also enjoy spending time together outside work, whether it's going out for dinner or joining one of the many events organized by AAE.
You've got what it takes
We're not looking for an experienced micro-deburring specialist. We'll teach you the craft. What we're really looking for is someone who enjoys working with precision and takes pride in getting every detail just right.
You:
Have a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination.
Have a sharp eye for detail.
Can stay focused for extended periods.
Work accurately and systematically.
Feel comfortable in a quiet working environment.
Are proficient in Dutch and/or English.
Experience in quality control, inspection, laboratory work, precision mechanical assembly, or other precision-based work could be a great fit for this role. But what matters most is that you enjoy working with exceptional care on a product where every micron counts.
How we take care of you
At AAE, employee happiness is our number one priority. You'll see that reflected in many ways, including plenty of opportunities for training and career development, as well as our comprehensive vitality program, which supports the physical and mental well-being of our employees.
Here's what you can expect (based on a 40-hour workweek):
A gross monthly salary between €2,800 and €4,300, depending on your knowledge and experience.
Annual profit sharing.
40 days off (27 vacation days + 13 additional days off under our reduced working hours scheme).
Commuting allowance.
Access to the AAE Academy.
Flexible start times, as long as you start your workday before 9:00 AM.
A minimum availability of 32 hours per week for this position.
And did you know that AAE was recognized as a Worldclass Workplace in 2025? This recognition is only awarded to organizations whose employees rate their employer above average.
